1. Faith
Faith is the backbone of a Muslim’s life. The Quran has stressed belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers and the Day of Judgment
- Verse:
- إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتۡهُمۡ إِيمَٰنٗا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone).” (Quran 8:2)

2. Charity (Zakat)
Charity is a basic pillar of Islam, signifying the importance of social welfare and economic justice.

- وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٖ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ

3. Patience (Sabr)

- يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسۡتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Quran 2:153)

4. Gratitude (Shukr)

- وَإِذۡ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمۡ لَئِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡ وَلَئِن كَفَرۡتُمۡ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٞ
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.” (Quran 14:7)

- Verse: يَا أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ اعدلوا۟ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۗ وَاتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٞ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives.” (Quran 4:135)
Lesson: if there is justice ensures harmony, trust, and integrity in society, it also safeguards the right and dignity of a man.
6. Forgiveness (Maghfirah)
Forgiveness is highly valued in the Quran, promoting mercy and kindness.
- Verse: وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ فِي ٱلۡآخِرَةِ وَٱلدُّنْيَا لَمَسَّتْكُمْ فِيمَا أَفْتَرَيْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
“And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran 24:22)
